I am going to court

If your lender has issued a possession claim against you, don’t panic. You are not alone; many people in Somerset are in a similar situation. By taking immediate action now, you are less likely to lose your home.

To have the best possible chance of remaining in your home it is vital that you attend court. You can get free advice on your case from the duty advisor, just ask the Usher for details. 84% of people that show up for court and use the court advisor service don’t get repossessed.

The most important thing is to attend your court hearing. Before you do this, take the following action:

  1. Fill out the personal budget sheet.
  2. Get free independent advice from your local Citizens Advice Bureau immediately.
  3. Show up to court in lots of time so that there is enough time to see the court advisor.
